| Finance Lease |
| Rentals are payable monthly over a fixed term, with an initial rental payable on signing. VAT is chargeable on monthly rentals as they fall due, rather than at the outset, to assist cash flow. A flexible form of financing, which can be tailored to suit the individual needs. The asset is notionally shown on the lessee's balance sheet for depreciation purposes, however, 100% of the net rentals payable are allowable for tax. |
| Hire Purchase |
A traditional method of spreading the cost of the vehicle or trailer over the useful working life of the asset, or paying for it as you use it. An initial deposit is required, usually the full VAT on the cost price (which is reclaimable for VAT registered operators) plus a % of the cash price, usually 10% - 20%.
The benefits are fixed monthly payments giving accurate budgeting and cash control, tax relief on interest paid and capital allowances available on the asset. Ownership of the asset transfers to the user at the end of the agreement. |
