Finance Lease

• An initial rental is payable on signing
• Rentals are payable monthly over a fixed term
• 100% of the net rentals payable are allowable for tax purposes
• VAT is chargeable on monthly rentals as they fall due, rather than at the outset
• The asset is shown on the lessee's balance sheet for depreciation purposes

Hire Purchase

• Spreads the cost of the vehicle over its useful working life
• An initial deposit is required, usually the full VAT on the cost price (reclaimable for VAT registered operators)
• Plus a % of the cash price, usually 10% - 20%
• Tax relief is available on any interest paid and capital allowances are available on the vehicle
• Fixed monthly payments give accurate budgeting and cash control
